On-camera coaching: come across naturally on video, livestreams and in interviews
On-camera coaching with public speaking coach Michael Sinnhuber prepares you for every situation where there is no audience in the room, just a camera: LinkedIn and social media videos, TV, radio and press interviews, virtual meetings and video messages to your organisation. We work in front of a running camera on your message, eye contact, voice and on-screen presence. Online or in Mittersill (Austria), in English or German. From €250 net (€300 gross) per hour.
“You can stop talking, but your body keeps on speaking. It is the biggest chatterbox of all time.”
Samy Molcho (translated from German)
The camera magnifies every moment of doubt.
And every moment of confidence, too.
What are you recording?
For every moment when you are facing a lens rather than a room full of people.
-
LinkedIn and social media videos
You want to build your profile, with videos that sound like you, not like a script.
-
TV, radio and press interviews
The camera is rolling and the questions keep coming. You get your key message across, even when time is short.
-
Virtual meetings and webinars
Teams, Zoom or Webex. You hold people's attention, even though all they see is a screen.
-
Video messages to your organisation
A New Year message, a strategy update or an intranet video. A few minutes your people will actually watch.
Speaking to a live audience? See presentation coaching. If nerves get the better of you on camera, the stage fright page can help.
What we work on
We follow the four phases of the House of Speaking method, from the foundation to the moment the camera starts rolling.
-
Foundation You are talking to a person, not to a lens. -
Planning & building A message that lands in the first few seconds. -
Design Framing, lighting and a background that suit you. -
Delivery Eye contact, voice and expression that come through on screen.
On camera with Kurier TV
Together with two colleagues from the Small Historic Towns of Austria, I was invited onto Kurier TV to talk about our partnership. It was an exciting moment, and a good reminder of how different a camera is from a stage: it is closer than any audience. It picks up every gesture, every glance and every moment of hesitation.
That is why memorising a script won’t help you on camera. Only preparation and practice will. When you are well prepared, you don’t just make the most of an opportunity like this. You actually enjoy it.

Your coach
I'm Michael Sinnhuber, public speaking coach and author of “3, 2, 1… Reden ist jetzt Deins”. I regularly face cameras and microphones myself: in TV interviews on Austrian channels such as RTS Salzburg and Kurier TV, in podcasts and in videos. So I know first-hand how different it feels from being on stage.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need expensive equipment for good videos?
No. A recent smartphone is enough for most videos. Good lighting, clean sound and, above all, the way you speak matter far more. We review your setup as part of the coaching.
Should I read from a script or speak without notes?
Without notes, but with a clear structure in your head. Viewers can see and hear a script immediately. You learn your message so well that you can say it in your own words, even on the third take.
Can you prepare me for an interview with journalists?
Yes. We define the key message you want to get across and rehearse the questions that might come up, including the awkward ones. In a mock interview we run through it all under realistic conditions.
Does the coaching help with virtual meetings?
Yes. A webcam follows the same rules as any other camera: eye contact, voice and structure. On top of that, we look at your tech and framing so you come across with real presence on screen.
What if I really don't like being on camera?
That is exactly what this coaching is for. We start with short, simple recordings and build up gradually. Most people notice after the very first session that it is getting easier.
Is the coaching available in English?
Yes. We practise videos and interviews for international channels in English, online or in Mittersill.
What are you planning to record?
Tell me about it in a short, free intro call. We'll work out what you need, which format will get you there and whether we're a good fit.
